The Department of Communication at the University of California Davis invites applications for a part-time temporary teaching position in Communication for the 2022-2023 academic year. Availability of this position depends upon final administrative approval; the successful applicant will teach one or two courses during each of Winter 2023 and Spring 2023 quarters. The Department seeks applicants with demonstrated teaching experience and effectiveness. An M.A. in communication is required, but a Ph.D. is strongly desired. This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Unit.
We seek a lecturer with teaching or research experience in the quantitative, social-scientific study of communication, able to teach in the following areas: social media, computer-mediated communication, and persuasive technologies.
Applicants must have previous teaching experience and demonstrated effectiveness in teaching courses that comport with the department’s quantitative, social-scientific focus. Compensation is commensurate with ability and experience.
