DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHIATRY AND BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES

The University of California, Davis, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is recruiting for an Assistant Professor in Residence Developmental Scientist with Telehealth expertise.

A full-time faculty position (In Residence Series) is available in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Assistant Professor in Residence level for an early-career developmental psychologist with expertise in early development and identification of autism spectrum disorder. The candidate must possess a Ph.D. in developmental psychology, human development, or related field. Demonstrated research expertise in early communication development, identification and parent-mediated assessment and intervention for autism and other neurodevelopmental disabilities is required. Preferred qualifications include expertise in telehealth models of early infant evaluation/assessment, and some experience with implementation science models. Strong applicants will have additional expertise in use of longitudinal and randomized trial designs, and biomarker assessments such as eye tracking and ERP to inform understanding of social and cognitive development in very young children with neurodevelopmental disorders.

The individual selected for the position will be expected to build a successful, independent research program and demonstrate excellence in teaching and university service. Specific responsibilities include: 1) carrying out studies of early behavioral development and screening and identification in autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders; 2) evaluating telehealth-based approaches to these studies through both quantitative and qualitative approaches, and 3) successfully competing for extramural funding to develop novel telehealth screening and diagnostic models for neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric disorders and implementation science approaches to evaluate their effectiveness. Additional responsibilities include interdisciplinary collaborations with faculty from diverse backgrounds and participation in large-scale, team science initiatives.

This recruitment is conducted at the Assistant rank. The selected candidate will be hired at the Assistant rank, regardless of the proposed appointee's qualifications.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

1) The candidate must possess a Ph.D. in developmental psychology, human development, or related field.
