Salary range: The salary range for this position is $215,000-$350,000. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan.

Position description

The Department of Neurology at the University of California, Davis, is recruiting a Headache Medicine Neurologist for a full-time faculty position.

The position is open at the Assistant, Associate or Full rank in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor (HSCP) or the Clinical Neurology series. The academic rank of the position is commensurate with the level of experience and qualifications of the applicant.

Faculty members provide mainly outpatient and minimal inpatient clinical care; teach medical students, residents, and fellows; and provide university/public service. Most clinical responsibilities will focus on neurologic headache and facial pain in the outpatient clinic. The remaining clinical effort will consist of general neurology inpatient attending service.

Our outpatient clinic has excellent nursing, staff, and neuro-specialty pharmacological support. The Headache Clinic has grown to a busy clinical operation of excellence with all modalities of therapy. There are close relationships with Neurological Surgery and Pain Medicine with opportunities for collaborative translational research. The UC Davis Department of Neurology is nationally ranked in USN&WR. UC Davis Health has the largest catchment area of the academic medical centers in California.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Possess an MD or DO degree.

For the Clinical Neurology series, the ability and experience to conduct scholarly/clinical/translational research and a record of publications in peer reviewed journals.

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

Board certified in Neurology by the ABPN.
Board certified or eligible in Headache Medicine through the UCNS.
Eligible for California medical license.

Preferred qualifications (other preferred, but not required, qualifications for the position)

For the Clinical Neurology series, evidence of success in obtaining extramural funding and/or administering clinical trials
