Temporary Teaching Opportunities in History for 2022-2023

Position description

The Department of History of the University of California, Davis intends, pending administrative approval and funding, to make temporary appointments of lecturers for one or more courses in the following fields:

  • Latin American History (Pending Funding)
  • Asia/Middle East History (Pending Funding)
  • European History (Pending Funding)
  • United States History (Pending Funding)
  • Other courses as needed

Preference will be given to candidates with the Ph.D., but those who have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. except the dissertation will be considered. Compensation is contingent upon qualifications and experience.

Applications are accepted on a continuous basis for future temporary openings. However, for first consideration for the 2022-23 academic year, please submit your application by May 1, 2022. Applicants internal to the UC Davis Department of History who had an appointment in 2021-2022 and apply by the “Initial Review Date” of May 1, 2022 will be considered prior to all other applicants. Only completed files will be reviewed.

Applications should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, contact information for 1-3 referees, statement of teaching, and, if available, documentation of teaching ability.
