Academic Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon(s)

The Department of Surgery at University of California, Davis Health located in Sacramento, California, seeks to recruit an Academic Trauma Surgeon at the Associate Professor level in the Health Science Clinical Professor series. Selected candidate will have experience with leadership positions in a military setting.

Candidate will be hired in the Health Science Clinical Professor series. Health Science Clinical Professor series is required to engage in clinical work, teaching and to support deptartments research mission.

The selected candidate will contribute to the growth of the educational, research and clinical missions of the surgical programs at UC Davis Health. Expected responsibilities include teaching; both inpatient and outpatient, clinical care, resident and fellow teaching, research related to trauma services and participation in the trauma, acute care surgery and surgical critical care team conferences. The Incumbent(s) will work collaboratively and integrate with our strong community partners.

Experience with leadership positions in a military setting is required.

    • Possess a Medical Degree
    • Be eligible or certified by the American Board of Surgery in both Surgery and Surgical Critical Care
    • Experience with leadership positions in a military setting is required
    • Have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment
