Position description

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, Davis Health seeks to recruit a part time (60%) Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician. The position will be recruited at the Assistant, Associate or Full rank Health Sciences Clinical Professor series based on experience and qualifications.

Applicants must possess an MD or DO from an accredited medical school and have or be eligible to obtain a California Medical License. Candidates must be board certified or eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology and have successfully completed an accredited fellowship and be sub-specialty board certified or board eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine.

Additional requirements include clinical experience in maternal medical complications, prenatal diagnosis, ultrasound and genetics, demonstrated clinical skills and judgment, teaching effectiveness and proficiency in clinical investigation. Applicants must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment, and be able to adhere to policies and procedures. Preferred qualifications include management of maternal cardiac and endocrine conditions and advanced fetal ultrasonography. Individuals with specialized interest in prenatal diagnosis, medical genetics and ultrasound are preferred.

Position responsibilities will include the management of patients with high-risk obstetrical conditions, both inpatient and outpatient, as well as surgery and procedures; teaching fellows, residents, medical students and non-MFM fellows is expected and research duties will include translational science and/or clinical research to meet the goals of the department. Salary and level of appointment will be based upon experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Possess an MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Possess or eligible for California Medical License
Board certified or eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Board certified or eligible for sub-specialty in Maternal-Fetal Medicine
Completed an accredited fellowship
Clinical experience in maternal medical complications, prenatal diagnosis, ultrasound and genetics, demonstrated clinical skills and judgment, teaching effectiveness and proficiency in clinical investigation.

Have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment, and be able to adhere to policies and procedures.

Preferred qualifications (other preferred, but not required, qualifications for the position)

Management of maternal cardiac and endocrine conditions and advanced fetal ultrasonography
Specialized interest in prenatal diagnosis, medical genetics and ultrasound
