Position description

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, Davis Health seeks to recruit a full-time Family Medicine-Psychiatrist with a focus on Obstetrics in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine. The position will be recruited at the Assistant/Associate/Professor Rank in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series based on experience and qualifications.

Applicants must possess an MD or DO from an accredited medical school and have or be eligible to obtain a California Medical License. Candidates must be board certified or eligible in Psychiatry and Family Medicine with a focus on Obstetrics.

Additional requirements include clinical experience in psychiatric evaluation of pre-natal patients, intervention for severe mental illness, demonstrated clinical skills and judgment, teaching effectiveness and proficiency in clinical investigation. Applicants must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment and be able to adhere to policies and procedures. Preferred qualifications include management of labor complications and acute treatment of peri-partum associated mental illness and post-partum depression management using Brexanolone.

Position responsibilities will include the management of patients with high-risk obstetrical conditions, both inpatient and outpatient, as well as procedures; teaching fellows, residents, medical students and non-MFM fellows is expected and research duties will include translational science and/or clinical research to meet the goals of the department. Salary and level of appointment will be based upon experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Possess an MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Possess or eligible for California Medical License
Board certified or eligible in Psychiatry
Board certified or eligible in Family Medicine with OB Focus
Clinical experience in psychiatric evaluation of pre-natal patients, intervention for severe mental illness, demonstrated effectiveness in clinical investigation and proficiency. Ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment and be able to adhere to policies and procedures.

Preferred qualifications (other preferred, but not required, qualifications for the position)
