The Center for Neuroscience (CNS) in the College of Biological Sciences and the Department of Neurology in the School of Medicine at the University of California, Davis will invite applications for a position in systems neuroscience at the assistant professor level, ladder rank tenure track, to begin November 1, 2021. Candidates must possess a PhD. or M.D. degree. Applicants using cutting-edge approaches to understand local and/or long-range brain circuit function and dysfunction are encouraged to apply. Candidates should be strongly motivated by the relevance of their research to neurologic diseases and should value the opportunity to work in close collaboration with both research and clinical faculty. The appointee is expected to have an active research program, a strong commitment to high quality teaching, the potential to attract extramural funding, and excellent potential for interactions/collaborations with existing faculty at the CNS and in the Neurology Department. The applicant’s accomplishments in innovative research and commitments to teaching should demonstrate their potential to develop into the future leaders of their fields.
Required materials include curriculum vitae, a statement of research and teaching interests and experience (including information about previous activities mentoring women, minorities, students with disabilities, or other under-represented groups), copies of up to five representative publications and at least 3 letters of recommendation.
