Description

The Department of Neurology at the University of California Davis, School of Medicine, is recruiting a clinical Neuroimmunologist/ Multiple Sclerosis (MS) specialist to join an established MS and autoimmune neurology group. The successful candidate must have board certification/eligibility in Neurology or Child Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and fellowship training in Neuroimmunology/MS (adult, pediatric or combined).

This full-time position is offered in either the Health Sciences Clinical Professor (HSCP) series or Clinical X series at the Assistant or Associate ranks. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary academic adult and pediatric Neurology practice in the beautiful Sacramento region of Northern California.

The UC Davis Department of Neurology and UC Davis Health teaching hospital are nationally ranked in US News & World Report. The department continues to expand with 46 clinical faculty across all neurological specialties. The Neurology outpatient clinic has an electrophysiology lab as well as excellent nursing, staff, neuropsychology, social work, and pharmacological support.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
This faculty position requires a primary interest in clinical practice and the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows. In both the HSCP and Clinical X series, the faculty member will provide inpatient and outpatient clinical care; teach medical students, residents and fellows; engage in scholarly or creative activity; and provide university/public service. The individual will work with an established MS and Neuroimmunology research group.

For the Clinical X series, the position requires participation in clinical trials, translational research, and collaborative research.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• MD, DO or MD/PhD
• California Medical license or be license eligible by the time of employment
• Board certified or board eligible in Neurology or Child Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
• Fellowship training in Neuroimmunology/ Multiple Sclerosis (adult, pediatric or combined)
• The ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment
• Experience conducting scholarly/clinical/translational research and a record of publications in peer reviewed journals is required (Clinical X series)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Evidence of success in obtaining extramural funding and/or administering clinical trials is preferred (Clinical X series)
