Position description

The Department of Internal Medicine at the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine is recruiting for a fulltime academic position as an Assistant/Associate Professor in the Adjunct Series. Appointees to this series are required to engage in teaching, research and University and public service.

Candidates must possess a Ph.D. degree and post-doctoral experience. The successful candidate will be a basic scientist with a record of outstanding achievement in bench research in any field but, will be expected to initially work on basic renal physiology. Candidates with an interest in understanding altered metabolism in kidney disease and diabetes would be preferred. Such experience will be evidenced by publications, and extramural funding. Candidates must have the interest in and ability to teaching undergraduate and graduate students and to mentor post-doctoral fellows. Candidates must possess the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse, translational and interdisciplinary research environment.
