The Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Davis, seeks part time instructors to teach one or more courses in the area of Finance for the 2020-2021 academic year. These courses are part of the curriculum for the online MBA program.
Applicants should have a MBA or advanced coursework in Finance, and be familiar with standard business and corporate financial frameworks. Experience teaching with the case method and teaching in an online format preferred.
205V- Financial Theory and Policy (core)
Covers the fundamental principles of corporate financial management and capital markets. Major topics include general valuation methods for risky cash flow streams, capital budgeting, modern portfolio theory, asset pricing models, corporate cost of capital, and corporate capital structure.risk management, equity financing, debt financing, and debt policy.
261V - Investment Analysis (Elective)
Examines models of asset pricing and the actual performance of U.S. and foreign inveestments, with an emphasis on equity investments. The class will look at factors affecting stock and bond returns, the success of different investment strategies, and the ability of individual investors and institutional players to "beat the market." Other topics include diversification, market crashes, fixed-income analysis, the organization and performance of mutual funds.
Instructors will hold 10 live online sessions, one per week in a 10-week quarter, reviewing and expanding upon material presented to students in a pre-recorded format. Instructors are also required to assist with course grading and work with the course coordinator to ensure consistency across sections. A fast and stable internet connection is required.

Unit 18 Lecturers are governed under a collective bargaining agreement (American Federation of Teachers (AFT) - Non-Senate Instructional Unit). Under this contract, once a lecturer accumulates enough quarters of service, the lecturer can be reviewed for a Continuing Lecturer position.
