The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UC Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time (100% time) highly qualified accredited orthopedic spine fellowship-trained surgeon to complement its already comprehensive spine program. The position will serve as a faculty member at either the Assistant, or Associate rank in our Faculty Senate Clinical-X series. The academic rank of the position is commensurate with the level of experience and qualifications of the applicant.
The UC Davis Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is the premier surgical service provider in the greater Sacramento region and beyond and is based on the UC Davis Health campus in Sacramento, California. Sacramento is an easily accessible, family-oriented city in close proximity to the San Francisco Bay area, Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the California coast, and Napa Valley.
This position will provide inpatient and outpatient spine clinical care for the UC Davis Health Spine Clinic, with the potential to collaborate with Shriners Hospital for Children Northern California. This position will also include the teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students and will provide both formal didactic sessions and clinical supervision for students, residents and fellows, as well as participate in departmental meetings, conferences, hospital and departmental committees. This position will participate in evening/weekend/holiday call for our UC Davis Health Hospital System.
The candidate must possess an M.D., have completed an approved Orthopaedic Surgery residency program, be board certified or eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery and be a fellowship-trained in Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon. The candidate must be eligible for licensure in the State of California and/or have an active California medical license prior to appointment start date. Candidates must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment and adhere to University policy and procedures. Demonstrated teaching experience in an academic clinical setting is preferred.
