The University of California, Davis, Department of Neurological Surgery is recruiting a full-time faculty position, specializing in functional neurosurgery with expertise in the surgical management of movement disorders, epilepsy, pain, spasticity and peripheral nerve disorders.
The position is offered at the Assistant, Associate or full Professor level within the Clinical Neurological Surgery series or the In-Residence series (commensurate with credentials).
Successful candidates will have the foundation, preparation, and vision to pursue a productive career in academic neurosurgery. Additionally, there is potential for joint appointments in the Department of Neurology and/or the Center for Neurosciences, as appropriate. The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team at UC Davis which includes neurology, neuropsychology, neurophysiology, psychiatry and pain management.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an active neurosurgical clinical practice, conduct clinical and/or basic science research, teach residents and medical students, and provide University and public service.
Candidates must possess an MD, DO, or equivalent degree, and must have completed specialized training in Functional Neurosurgery.
A postgraduate functional neurosurgery fellowship is preferred, but those with a strong enfolded fellowship will be equally considered. Preferred qualities include research interests in movement disorders, epilepsy, cognitive disorders, pain, spasticity, and/or peripheral nerve disorders.
