The University of California Davis, School of Engineering, Department of Computer Science is recruiting for an internal full-time faculty member to serve as the holder of the Prem Chand Jain Family Presidential (Endowed) Chair in innovation and entrepreneurship. In addition to maintaining the regular scholarly, teaching (4-course load), and service activities of a senior tenured faculty member, the holder will have the following responsibilities:
• Provide leadership in the area of entrepreneurship and innovation and be fully engaged in activities in the Department of Computer Science.
• Provide annual report to the Dean of Engineering on entrepreneurial activities such as patents, start-up efforts, fund-raising, creative partnerships, etc. (and note that these reports will be shared with the donor).
• Enhance the academic and intellectual life of the campus as a whole.
Required candidate qualifications:
Be an existing senior faculty member in the Department of Computer Science in the UC Davis College of Engineering whose specialty is in the area of innovation and entrepreneurship and whose distinguished scholarship is nationally recognized.
Initial review of applications will begin on February 15th, 2020; the position will remain open until filled. Applicants must submit their curriculum vitae, a statement of research, statement of teaching, and statement of contributions to diversity.
The term of appointment is five years, with the option for reappointment following review.
