We are looking to recruit a post-doctoral scholar for an inter-disciplinary research project on A Network Analytic Study of the Determinants and Consequences of Burden Sharing in International Alliances and Defense Cooperation Agreements, 1945-2010. This is a one-year position, with a possibility for an additional one-year renewal. Potential applicants should note that there are two postdoctoral positions available on this project. Applicants are welcome to apply for both positions. This ad seeks candidates from political science or international relations. The following qualifications are mandatory for this position:

a. Ph.D. in hand at the start of the position.
b. Demonstrated research on international security, defense cooperation, political conflict and violence, and/or international law.
c. Knowledge of and experience in network analysis, complex systems, and/or spatial analysis.
d. Strong statistical data analysis and data management skills.

The following skills and experiences would be considered as strong advantages:

a. Programming experience (Python, R, Java)
b. Foreign language proficiencies
c. Experience collecting, coding, and managing international relations data.
d. Experience managing research assistants and research teams.
This is a full-time position with an annual salary of $54,000 plus UC Davis fringe benefits. UC Davis is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer.
