CRISPR/CAS GENE EDITING IN VIVO POSTDOCTORAL POSITION
Location: UC Davis main campus or medical center
A postdoctoral position is available for a joint project between the laboratories of:
Dr. Kit Lam (https://basicscience.ucdmc.ucdavis.edu/Lam_Lab/),
Dr. R. Holland Chang (https://biology.ucdavis.edu/people/rholland-cheng)
Dr. David J. Segal (https://biology.ucdavis.edu/people/david-segal), supported by the NIH Somatic Cell Genome Editing consortium (https://scge.mcw.edu/).
The project will design and evaluate new delivery systems for genome editing tools in mice and large animal models. The position’s primary focus is to evaluate the on-target and off-target activities of genetic and epigenetic editing tools. The successful candidate is expected to prepare and submit manuscripts to peer-reviewed journals, and participate in seminars and weekly lab meetings.
The applicant must have a Ph.D. in Genetics, Structural Biology, Molecular Biology, Biophysics, Biochemistry or related field. Experience working with gene editing in vivo is required. Experience with viral vectors and/or whole-genome assays related to gene editing (e.g., DISCOVER-seq, ChIP-seq) is preferred. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and be comfortable working collaboratively between the UCD labs and the SCGE consortia labs.
