Position description

The Center for Neuroscience (CNS) and the Department of Microbiology & Molecular Genetics (MMG) in the College of Biological Sciences at the University of California, Davis will invite applications for a position in molecular neuroscience at the assistant professor level, to begin July 1, 2020 or later. Candidates must possess a PhD. or M.D. degree. Applicants using genetic and genomic approaches to understand brain function and dysfunction are encouraged to apply. Candidates combining bioinformatics with wet bench approaches in animal model and/or human studies are encouraged to apply. The appointee is expected to have an active research program, a strong commitment to high quality teaching, the potential to attract extramural funding, and excellent potential for interactions/collaborations with existing faculty at the CNS and in MMG. The applicant’s accomplishments in innovative research and commitments to teaching should demonstrate their potential to develop into the future leaders of their fields.

Required materials include curriculum vitae, statements of research and teaching interests and diversity, equity, and inclusion experience (including information about previous activities mentoring women, minorities, students with disabilities, or other under-represented groups), copies of up to five representative publications and at least 3 letters of recommendation.
