Academic Trauma, Acute Care Surgeon and Director of Trauma, Critical Care, and Acute Care Surgery Research
The Department of Surgery at the University of California, Davis Health located in Sacramento, California, seeks to fill 1 full-time Academic Trauma Surgeon position at the associate or professor level in the Clinical X, or In-Residence series.
The selected candidate(s) will contribute to the growth of the educational, research and clinical missions of the surgical programs at UC Davis Health. Expected responsibilities include serving as the Director for Trauma, Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery Research, teaching; both inpatient and outpatient, clinical care, and resident and fellow teaching. The Incumbent will work collaboratively and integrate with our strong community partners and serve as a leader in the research community.
Qualified candidates must possess a Medical Degree, and be eligible or certified by the American Board of Surgery in both Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. Must have a well-established research background and potential for extramural grant funding support. All candidates must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment.
Candidates must be able to obtain a California Medical License before the start date. Must possess a strong research background to lead research efforts for the Department of Surgery. The ideal candidate will have experience in machine learning, and Big Data Analytics as it relates to surgical critical care medicine.
Salary and level of appointment will be based upon experience and qualifications.
