Neonatology Faculty Member
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for a mid-career, funded research investigator in the Division of Neonatology. This position will be open to Associate/Full Professor level (commensurate with credentials) in the Clinical X series. Candidates will be expected to participate in clinical care, teaching of medical students, residents and fellows, research activities of the Department of Pediatrics, and serve on departmental committees.
With more than 120 physicians in 33 pediatric subspecialties, the UC Davis Children's Hospital is a 118-bed hospital housed within the 619-bed University of California, Davis Medical Center. It is the only designated Children's Hospital in the Sacramento region, and is known for offering comprehensive, compassionate, family-centered care. The Children’s Hospital has a Level IV 49- bed Neonatal Unit with an ACGME accredited fellowship program in Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine. The Children’s Hospital provides a full complement of pediatric sub-specialty care including pediatric and cardiovascular surgery, as well as ECMO. Also, the UC Davis Clinical and Translational Science Center (CTSC) is a major biomedical research facility with general and NIH funded programs.
Candidates must have the following experience/qualifications:
• M.D. or D.O.
• Successful completion of an approved pediatric residency training program
• Successful completion of an approved Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship
• Board certification in Pediatrics and Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine
• Eligibility for a California Medical License
• Ability to foster collegiality and work collaboratively in a diverse environment
• Demonstrated ability to establish and sustain extramurally funded research programs
• Experience mentoring junior faculty in scholarly activities and research projects
