Academic Colorectal Surgeon, Division of Colorectal Surgery

The Department of Surgery at the University of California, Davis, Health System located in Sacramento, California, seeks to hire a 2 full-time Academic Colorectal Surgeon. The position will be recruited at the assistant or associate professor level in the Health Science Clinical, Clinical X, or In-Residence series. UC Davis is a large volume Level I Trauma Hospital with an NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center and a Level I Children’s Surgical Center.

The selected candidate will be expected to participate in teaching; clinical care, both inpatient and outpatient; research relating to colorectal surgery and university service dependent on the chosen academic series.

Basic Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must possess a medical degree, have an excellent academic background and completed an approved colorectal fellowship; be board certified/eligible in colorectal surgery and have a CA Medical License before the start date. The candidate must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment.

Preferred qualifications:
Include prior experience in administration of clinical and educational programs, demonstrated experience in colorectal cancer and/or IBD, experience in minimally invasive surgery, and a strong interest in clinical education.

Salary and level of appointment will be based upon experience and qualifications.
