The Department of Internal Medicine at UC Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time academic position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Clinical X or Health Sciences Clinical Professor series. The successful candidate will serve as the Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program and be responsible for administrative and educational aspects of the training program as delegated by the Program Director including: direct supervision and teaching in inpatient and outpatient settings; coaching, mentoring, and remediating residents; resident evaluation; curriculum development; and resident recruitment with a focus on diversity and inclusion. A significant portion of this position will include clinical work in a community-based clinic and UC Davis inpatient service or clinics (40%).

Candidates must possess demonstrated excellence as a teacher, experience in undergraduate or graduate medical education, demonstrated commitment to diversity, and outstanding clinical and communication skills. Qualifications include an MD or DO degree, Board Certification in Internal Medicine and/or an IM subspecialty, and a minimum of 3 years of experience teaching medical
students and/or residents. Internal Medicine subspecialists are encouraged to apply. The ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment is required.

Appointees to the Clinical X series are required to participate in patient care activities, teach medical students, residents and fellows, participate in University service, and demonstrate scholarship and creativity documented by peer-reviewed publication and/or dissemination and use in the medical
community. Appointees to the Health Sciences Clinical series are required to participate in patient care activities and University service, teach medical students, residents and fellows, and participate in scholarly or creative work. Academic rank will be determined commensurate with experience.
