Position description

The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, is currently recruiting for three full-time faculty positions in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series at the rank of Assistant Professor. Appointees to the Health Sciences Clinical series are required to teach, participate in university service, provide direct patient care and engage in creative work.

UC Davis has recently been designated as an Antimicrobial Stewardship Center of Excellence. The focus of this position is to contribute to our Center of Excellence around Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Prevention. We strive to continue to raise the standard of excellence in Antimicrobial Stewardship and are looking for faculty to join our team of physicians, nurses and pharmacists. The faculty member will be involved in management of outpatient IV antimicrobial use as well as the control and optimization of in-patient antimicrobial use. They will participate in surveillance and evaluation of hospital associated infections. Responsibilities will also include general inpatient and outpatient Infectious Diseases consultations. Opportunities are available in community HIV care, transplant consultation, TB treatment, travel medicine and clinical research.

Applicants must have M.D. degree, be Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Board Certified/Board eligible in Infectious Diseases, and be eligible for medical licensure in the State of California. Candidates must have experience in Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Prevention. Additionally, strong clinical skills in management of Infectious Diseases. Experience in or the ability to teach and supervise medical students, residents and fellows is required. The ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment is required.
