The University of California, Davis, Department of Neurology is seeking two board eligible/certified cognitive neurologists for full time faculty positions in the UC Davis School of Medicine in Sacramento, CA.
These positions are at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor levels in the Health Sciences Clinical series or the Clinical X series. UC Davis Medical Center is host to a federally funded Alzheimer’s Disease Center and neuropsychology fellowship program. UC Davis Health includes a large primary care network which makes many referrals for cognitive assessment that is supported by full time neuropsychologists. UC Davis Medical Center and the Neurology department are nationally recognized for quality of patient care and provide clinical, academic, and research leadership in the region.
This faculty position requires a primary interest in clinical practice and the teaching of medical students, residents and fellows.
In both the HSCP and Clinical X series, the faculty member will provide clinical care; teach medical students, residents and fellows; and provide University/public service. In addition, the faculty member will have the opportunity to participate in ongoing research activities of the Alzheimer’s Disease Center (ADC) including multiple clinical trials. While research is not required for the Health Sciences Clinical series, participation with ADC clinical research program is strongly encouraged. There is potential for up to 25% research support through the ADC.
Candidates must possess an MD or DO degree, be board certified in Neurology by the ABPN on or before their start date, and have the ability to obtain a California medical license. The completion of a one to three year fellowship program in Geriatric or Behavioral Neurology is preferred. The level of appointment will be commensurate with credentials.
For the Clinical X series, the ability and experience to conduct scholarly/clinical/translational research and a record of publications in peer reviewed journals is required. For the Clinical X series, evidence of success in obtaining extramural funding and/or administering clinical trials is preferred.
