The Department of Internal Medicine at the UC Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for two to four full- or part-time academic positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series. The successful candidate will serve as a Clinician-Educator for General Internal Medicine based at one of our affiliate community-based clinics, which are Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC). This position will include significant direct primary care for patients at the FQHC, and will also include direct supervision and teaching of residents, medical students, and NP/PA students that rotate through these clinics. Inpatient attending work with residents and students on the general medical consult service or inpatient medicine ward services at UC Davis Medical Center is also possible. The successful candidate is expected to participate in curriculum development, quality improvement projects, and mentoring or remediation of learners.

Appointees to the Health Sciences Clinical series are required to participate in patient care activities and University service, teach medical students and residents, and participate in scholarly or creative work. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.

Candidates must possess a strong interest in graduate and undergraduate medical education, have a dedication to primary care for the underserved, and possess outstanding clinical and communication skills. Qualifications include an MD or DO degree, Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine. The ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse team environment is required. Must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of California.
