The University of California, Davis, Department of Surgery

The Department of Surgery at the University of California, Davis Health located in Sacramento, California and the VA Northern California Health Care System (VANCHCS), jointly seek to hire a full time Vascular/Endovascular Surgeon in the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at the assistant or associate professor level, in the Health Science Clinical Professor, Clinical X, or In Residence series. This is a 6/8th clinical appointment at the VA and part-time appointment at UC Davis Health, a level I Trauma Center and tertiary care referral center. The Division of Vascular Surgery, at UC Davis Health, is a comprehensive academic program including an integrated residency in vascular surgery, basic and clinical research, an active clinical service, and affiliations with the Veterans Administration hospital in Sacramento and David Grant Medical Center on Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California. The Division of Vascular Surgery, within the Department of Surgery, is part of the multidisciplinary UC Davis Health Vascular Center.

VANCHCS expectations include maintenance of a high degree of excellence in clinical outcomes while providing efficient patient care. Collaborative patient management along with the other departments and sections of the hospitals including, but not limited to, Vascular laboratory, Medicine, Radiology, and the auxiliary services.

The selected candidate will contribute to the growth of the educational, research and clinical missions of the surgical programs at UC Davis Health. Expected responsibilities include; teaching, inpatient and outpatient clinical care, and research relating to vascular disease. Clinical duties include resident/fellow supervision, open vascular, percutaneous endovascular work and call coverage at both the UC Davis Medical Center and the VA facilities. Ready access to hybrid O.R.s, Catheterization Labs, and Simulation Centers will be available. The selected candidate will work collaboratively and integrate with our partners.

Basic Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must possess a Medical Degree; and be eligible or certified by the American Board of Surgery in Vascular Surgery. All candidates must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment and must be a US Citizen.

Additional Qualifications:
Candidates must be able to obtain a California Medical License before start date and a California Fluoroscopy Operator’s Permit within the first year of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates must be able to show experience relating to clinical and educational programs; and successful research engagement

Salary and level of appointment will be based upon experience and qualifications.
